Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 28, 2026 · Covoree (covoree.com)
This Privacy Policy describes how Covoree ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at covoree.com, desktop application, mobile applications (including the Android app distributed on Google Play), browser extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Covoree is operated by Femmyte. For privacy-related requests, contact us at support@covoree.com.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Service. We collect only what is needed to operate, secure, and improve Covoree.
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information — email address, display name, and authentication credentials when you register or sign in.
- Payment information — billing details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- License and subscription data — plan type, license keys, purchase history, and entitlement status.
- Support communications — messages you send to support, feedback, and bug reports.
- URLs and download requests — when you submit a link to download or resolve media, we process that URL to fulfill your request. Downloads are performed on your device where possible; some web features may process URLs on our servers.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app information — operating system, app version, device model, language, and general technical identifiers needed for compatibility and crash diagnostics.
- Usage data — feature usage, session events, and performance metrics to improve reliability (only with your consent on the website for analytics cookies).
- Log data — IP address, browser type, referring pages, timestamps, and error logs for security and abuse prevention on our website and APIs.
- Advertising identifiers — on mobile and web, where advertising is enabled and you consent, Google AdMob or Google AdSense may use advertising IDs or cookies to deliver and measure ads.
2.3 Local processing on your device
A core principle of Covoree is that media downloads and conversions run locally on your device when using the desktop or mobile app. We do not upload your downloaded media files to our servers for storage. Settings, download history, and cached files may remain on your device unless you delete them.
3. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and personalize the Service
- Authenticate users and manage accounts, licenses, and subscriptions
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Resolve media metadata and download requests you initiate
- Send transactional messages (receipts, license delivery, security alerts)
- Respond to support requests and improve product quality
- Monitor security, enforce our Terms, and prevent abuse
- Show advertising on supported free tiers (with consent where required by law)
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)
Where applicable, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the Service you request (accounts, downloads, billing).
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and limited analytics where balanced against your rights.
- Consent — non-essential cookies, personalized advertising, and optional marketing where required.
- Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and lawful requests.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and local storage. When you first visit, we show a cookie notice so you can accept or reject non-essential cookies.
- Strictly necessary — required for authentication, security, admin sessions, and core functionality. These cannot be disabled through our cookie banner.
- Analytics — Google Analytics helps us understand traffic and usage. Loaded only if you opt in.
- Advertising — Google AdSense may set cookies to deliver and measure ads on the website. Loaded only if you opt in.
You can change your choices via the cookie banner, your browser settings, or by contacting us. Mobile apps may use device advertising identifiers under platform settings and applicable consent rules.
6. Third-party services
We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf, including:
- Google — Google Play (Android distribution), Google Analytics (with consent), Google AdSense / AdMob (advertising where enabled), and Firebase or Play services as applicable.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Hosting and infrastructure — e.g. Vercel and database providers that host our website and APIs.
- Authentication providers — if you choose social or OAuth sign-in.
These providers have their own privacy policies. We share only the data needed for them to perform their services. Google's policies apply to data processed through Google services: Google Privacy Policy.
7. Advertising
Free tiers of Covoree may display ads through Google AdSense (website) or Google AdMob (mobile). Ads help fund development of the free plan. Where required, we request your consent before loading advertising scripts or using advertising cookies on the website. You can limit ad personalization through your device or Google account settings.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers under contractual confidentiality obligations
- To comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users and Covoree
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required)
9. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Account data is generally kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Server logs and security records may be retained for a limited period.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure payment handling through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact support@covoree.com and we will take steps to delete it.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You can update account details in the app or website where available. For other requests, email support@covoree.com.
13. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time using our account deletion page or by emailing support@covoree.com from the address linked to your account. We will verify your request and delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Uninstalling the mobile or desktop app removes local app data from your device but does not automatically delete server-side account records; submit a deletion request if you want account data removed from our systems.
This deletion process is provided in line with Google Play's data safety and account deletion requirements.
14. International transfers
We may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for transfers from the EEA/UK.
15. California privacy rights
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information. To exercise rights, contact support@covoree.com.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice where appropriate.
